The Klickitat
Valley Health District serves 8-10,000 people in Central and Eastern
Klickitat County. Goldendale is a community of about 3500 that
sits at the heart of the Eastern Columbia River Gorge, an area
of expansive farm and timberland, with picturesque Mt. Adams as
a backdrop.
The greater
Goldendale area is an attractive place to raise a family, offering
affordable housing, low utility and land prices, an excellent
school system and the friendly pace of a small rural community.
Regional traditions of agriculture and ranching continue to thrive
with seasonal events like the Klickitat County Fair & Rodeo
and year-round 4-H Youth Programs.
Outdoor enthusiasts
will find the 'Best of the Northwest' within easy distance of
Goldendale. To the west is world-class fishing, kayaking and hiking
on the Wild and Scenic Klickitat River, one of the Northwest's
last remaining free flowing rivers. To the south the Columbia
River beckons with cultural heritage, wine tasting, recreational
opportunities and sightseeing.
