EMERGENCY SERVICES

Klickitat Valley Hospital provides emergency medical services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ER is staffed by physicians and RNs that are Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Trauma certified, as required by the State Level IV Trauma Certification criteria. Emergency staff evaluate and treat emergency medical conditions such as cardiac emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, falls, lacerations and any serious trauma that threatens the loss of life or limb.

As part of the recent facility expansion at Klickitat Valley Hospital, several components have been added to the Emergency Services department. Our new 7 bed emergency room offers patients and medical personnel a greater level of privacy during treatment. Additional features enhance the staff’s ability to respond immediately to unique safety concerns, including a decontamination shower and a negative pressure isolation room for the treatment of contagious patients.

To ensure patient access to intensive care treatment, Life Flight (medivac airlift) provides air transfers of serious trauma patients to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon, the region's closest Level 1 Trauma Center. Life Flight transport is available to other specialty hospitals as well.
