HOSPICE
SERVICES

Hospice, in
the earliest days, was a concept rooted in the centuries-old idea
of offering a place of shelter and rest, or "hospitality"
to weary and sick travelers on a long journey. Today,
Hospice provides specialized care for people with terminal illnesses
so that they may live their remaining days in comfort and dignity.
Hospice care also recognizes that family members or loved ones
are often the patient's primary caregivers, with their own special
needs for support.
Klickitat
Valley Health Hospice is a community-based, nonprofit organization
that provides comprehensive healthcare services for terminally-ill
patients.
The Hospice
program has assembled a special team of nurses, social workers,
homehealth aides, physical and occupational therapists, clergy
and dedicated volunteers that are trained in quality, compassionate
medical and respite care. Our team works closely with your physician
to help control symptoms, relieve pain, and assist you and your
family in achieving the goals you find most important. We are
all partners in your care and we are committed to doing our best
to help you during this important time of life.

| The Goals
that Guide Hospice Care: |
|
Maximizing physical comfort and independence so that
patients
and their families can enjoy the best
quality of life possible.
|
|
Providing for the emotional and spiritual well-being
of the patient
and their loved ones.
|
|
Helping people with life-threatening illness to remain
in their homes,
if at all possible.
|
|
Assuring patients and their families have the information
needed to
provide care.
|
Reimbursement
Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans provide coverage
for hospice services. Although some patients dont qualify
for reimbursements through any of these sources, patients are
accepted based on their health needs not their ability
to pay.
Program
Funding
The establishment of KV Health Hospice was made possible by a
Health Systems Resource Grant on behalf of the Washington Office
of Community and Rural Health.
The success of our Hospice program depends upon private donations,
grants and fundraising activities. Your support can help us continue
much needed services.
