That’s where our District Leaders come in. We have assembled a strong and talented administrative team to lead KVH, with members who are leaders in their respective fields. These people combine broad industry experience and expertise with fresh external perspective and innovative ideas. Together, they are helping create our vision of healthcare with an unrelenting commitment to quality.

Lori Groves
Position:
Chief Financial Officer
Lori is responsible for all financial transactions of the District. This includes accounting, accounts payable, insurance billing, financial assistance and capital and supply purchasing.
Lori joined Klickitat Valley Health in 2020. Previously, she served as the Chief Financial Officer of Lower Umpqua Hospital District, an independent Critical Access Hospital on the Oregon Coast.
Lori has her bachelor’s and master’s degree along with a current Oregon CPA license. Before transitioning to hospital finance in 2013, she was in public accounting focusing on tax preparation and audit for eighteen years.
Jonathan Hatfield
Position:
Chief Executive Officer
Jonathan Hatfield, Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer, provides leadership for all aspects of the districts operations, focusing on the development and implementation of short and long term strategies in alignment with the goals and vision set by the board of directors. Jonathan monitors quality, operations, and financial data, and ensures appropriate use and allocation of resources. Jonathan represents the hospital district to the public locally and at the state level.
Jonathan brings over 17 years of experience in the field of medical information technology in addition to his leadership roles at KVH. Jonathan has a proven track record of success in implementing and managing I.T. strategies that drive business growth and improve efficiency.
Jonathan began his/her career as an I.T. Technician, and quickly progressed through the ranks, taking on the roles of I.T. Supervisor and then I.T. Manager, where Jonathan was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the I.T. department, as well as overseeing major projects and initiatives.
In 2016, Jonathan was promoted to Director of I.T. and Compliance and joined the Senior Leadership team at Klickitat Valley Health, where he played a key role in the development and implementation of the company’s IT strategy. Jonathan has led the district in the successful rollout of several major technology projects, including the implementation of a new electronic medical record (EMR) system in 2020.
When not at KVH, Jonathan can be found coaching local youth sports teams or enjoying some of the many outdoor activities the Columbia Gorge has to offer.
Jonathan Lewis
Position:
Director of Support Services
Jonathan is responsible for the programs and departments at KVH that promote an environment of care and healing. These include Dietary, Housekeeping/Environmental Services, Facilities Engineering, and Emergency Preparedness. He also fills the role of Safety Officer for the District.
He joined KVH in 2016 as our Plant Manager after a 28 year career in the Electrical Industry. Most recently Jonathan directed Hire Electric’s Solar Division, specializing in large, commercial, renewable energy projects all over eastern Oregon and Washington.
Jonathan is very engaged in the community, having served for six years on the Chamber of Commerce board, and the Gorge Technology Alliance board for two years. He is currently serving on the Mid Columbia Economic Development (MCEDD) and the Community Enrichment for Klickitat/Skamania Counties (CEKC) boards.
As the 2019 Washington State Society for Healthcare Engineering (WSSHE) Eastern Chapter President and the 2021 WSSHE State President, he is also very engaged in healthcare facilities support and advocacy regionally. Stewardship of our local healthcare investment through next generation energy efficiency is one of his many passions.
Charis Weis
Position:
Director of Human Resources and Community Outreach
Charis leads the Human Resources department which is responsible for benefits and compensation, recruitment, employee recognition and retention, labor law compliance, performance management, and personnel and union relations, She also oversees the Marketing, Volunteer Services and Employee Health departments and is responsible for the District’s Community Outreach program which aims to reach beyond the walls of the hospital and clinics to educate and empower those in our community to live healthy lives.
A native of Alaska, she began her career in healthcare as a pharmacy technician in 1999. Her path led her to Human Resources in 2005 while working at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles. Charis has a passion for rural healthcare and joined the Klickitat Valley Health team in 2010. She takes great pride in fostering trusting relationships and serving the employees of the District.
Charis is nationally certified through the Society for Human Resources Management.
