OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES

Klickitat Valley Health offers the services of East Cascade Therapy, a team of medical professionals who have been contracting with the District for over 30 years to help patients get on the road to recovery. Occupational Therapy is part of the rehabilitation services available to inpatients, outpatients, home health and hospice clients.

Our staff of highly trained therapists provides client-centered treatment along with client/caregiver training and education to promote safety and optimal independence with activities of daily living. Emphasis is on recovery of function whenever possible. In other cases, finding a different way to do the "same old thing" by modifying the task or the environment can help someone regain independence. For those who have, or are at risk of developing a debilitating illness or condition, therapists can work with clients and caregivers to develop strategies and skills that promote both health and independence.

To begin a therapy program, or to have a Home Safety Evaluation for fall prevention, our team must receive a referral from your physician. Your Occupational Therapist will then work with you and your family to develop an individualized treatment plan that best addresses your needs and concerns.

Occupational Therapists complete 4 or more years in education and a medical internship. Klickitat Valley Health Occupational Therapy staff are nationally certified and licensed by the state of Washington.
